Bob Trot Fundraising - The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) , AlexStrong Foundation, and Mission 22
The Bob Trot 5K & Fun Run is a family-friendly event that will take place at the North Augusta Greeneway and will course along SRP Park and the Savannah River. All proceeds will go directly to three charities chosen by the Stager family: The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, AlexStrong and Mission22. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma and Hodgkin’s disease, improve access to care for all, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The AlexStrong Foundation is committed to making Alex's legacy of love, perseverance and strength live on. Alex was diagnosed in 2019 with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma at the age of 10 months and unfortunately passed away 1 year later. AlexStrong raises awareness of childhood cancer with an aim to enable families and patients to make the most of their journeys. AlexStrong works with hospitals to make patient’s stays, infusions, and times of separation from family more manageable. The monotony of the hospital setting wears quickly on families. Sometimes a welcomed distraction or show of support makes all of the difference. Mission22 is a veteran nonprofit that aims to help veterans, families and community. It supports folks like Bob's nurse, who recently lost her son, a former marine.

A message from Bob's Daughter, Julia Stager:
As a future occupation, I dream of being a pediatric oncologist to help pursue the fight of trying to find a cure for childhood cancer. I have always had a passion of helping others and making someone smile. Added on to my future goal, my father was diagnosed with Angioimmuno Blastic T-Cell Lymphoma in 2018. It has caused a huge impact on my life. I hope to spread awareness of the fight for childhood cancer with my community and nationwide. My fight is strong because I want to cure cancer and spread awareness. Positivity is key when negativity is occurring, a smile has the power to change the world.
